Moving Services from Security Storage & Van Co.

Household Moving

Every person’s moving needs are different.  At Security Storage & Van we want to create a personalized moving plan just for your needs.  We will strive to work inside of your schedule and your budget.  We have always been proud of our ability to provide you a personalized move.

At Security Storage and Van we will provide your very own move manager, whom will come out and give you a quote at the start of your move.  Your quote will be based on what you tell us you need and the price of the household moving services and materials required meeting those needs.

Packing:

We have many different options for your packing.  You can either pack as much as you like or as little.  Our professional packers would be more than happy to do the entire job for you.  Maybe you want to do most of the packing yourself but you are worried about those more expensive fragile objects such as glassware, art and mirrors breaking.  Let our experienced packers handle the fragile objects for you.  If you choose to pack everything yourself, we can provide boxes and paper for you.

Loading:

To make sure your move stays as organized as possible we take the time to inventory all of your goods in a systematic process.  All upholstery is wrapped in stretch wrap that covers the entire object to protect it from any outside source.

Unloading:

When arriving at your new location all items are then inventoried again.  We will place all the furniture, boxes and any other belonging in the rooms you designate.  We can also assemble any furniture you would like upon request.  We use a number of different tools to protect your floors from any stains or scratches.

Unpacking:

Upon your request we do offer unpacking as well.   All of the boxes are opened and the objects are placed wherever you desire. We also remove all of the packing material from the house with this optional service.

Third-Party-Services:

Upon your request we can hire a third party for you to disassemble/assemble pool tables, hot tubs or a number of different appliances.

Crating:

If you have high end artwork, electrical equipment or collectibles we can build a crate to non standard sizes to better protect these valuables.

Storage:

Sometimes you have to leave your current home before your new one is completely ready.  In that case we can hold your goods in storage-in-transit for up to 90 days before they are moved into permanent storage.

Moving Tips

The key to any move is organization.  We have compiled a series of moving tips to assist you in the planning of your next move.

Packing

You have the option to pack as much as you would like.  We are able to do the whole job or any part of the packing that you would prefer. Here are a few packing tips that will help the process go as smoothly as possible.

-Pack items first that you do not use often.

-Start packing as soon as you plan your move.

-Use plenty of paper inside the box to provide ample cushion for the items.

-If the object is fragile make sure you clearly mark the box on the outside fragile.

-Separate breakables and non-breakable.

-Use professional packing tape and new newspaper to insure the ink

does not rub off onto your goods.

-List the room and contents on the outside of each box.

Non-allowables

Before your items are packed and loaded make sure you understand which items cannot be shipped because they are labeled as hazardous or perishable.  A few examples are:

Fire Extinguisher  / Household Batteries  / Matches / Aerosols / Kerosene / Cleaning Solvents   Gasoline / Propane / Propane Tanks / Nail Polish  / Motor Oil / Fireworks / Nail Polish Remover / Car Batteries / Charcoal / Charcoal Lighter / Paints (latex & oil-based) / Pesticides / Ammunition / Paint Thinner / Poisons (such as weed killer)

Make sure you also keep any important documents or sentimental objects with you.  If your shipment is delayed or lost there are some things we know that simply can’t be replaced:

Cell Phones / Keys / Medical Records / Jewelry / Cash / Records / Stock or Bonds / Financial Documents / Insurance Policies / Family Photos / School Records
